WASHINGTON, April 29, 2022  -- SCORE, mentors to America's small businesses, is co-hosting the 2022 National Small Business Week Virtual Summit, "Building a Better America Through Entrepreneurship," with the U.S. Small Business Administration from May 2-5.

Small Business Concerns Around Inflation Grow As Prices Soar and Economic Instability Continues

WASHINGTON, April 12, 2022 – Nearly one in three (30.5%) business owners report feeling extremely worried about inflation and rank it as a top business concern and another 62.5% say they are generally concerned about inflation and are keeping an eye on rising prices, according to new survey data from SCORE, mentors to America’s small businesses and a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

25,000 Small Businesses Launched Through SCORE Volunteer Corps

WASHINGTON, April 5, 2022 – SCORE, mentors to America's small businesses and a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration, is celebrating the impact of its 10,000 volunteers during National Volunteer Month. SCORE’s volunteers provide business mentoring and education in 1,500 communities nationwide, empowering local entrepreneurs, creating jobs and growing the American economy.

New impact data shows that in 2021 alone, SCORE volunteers:

  • Donated 4,580,420 hours
  • Helped create 25,084 new businesses, 71,475 non-owner jobs and 96,559 total jobs
  • Provided clients with 326,617

Small Business Struggles Continue Amid Economic Uncertainty

WASHINGTON, March 8, 2022 – Two years into the pandemic, more than half of small businesses report being in fair or poor financial condition according to a meta-analysis performed by SCORE,  mentors to America’s small businesses and a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Most small businesses have not applied for loans, even though 54% of entrepreneurs who didn’t apply for loans needed funds. Of the small business owners who did apply for outside financing, 63% used those funds to meet basic needs such as wages, rent and inventory costs, rather than to grow their
